Our Materials
We choose precious metals because the material beneath the finish matters. Every Drew Studio piece begins with solid 925 sterling silver, giving each design a genuine precious metal foundation.
Our gold vermeil pieces are finished with a 3 micron layer of 18K gold, which is 20% thicker than the 2.5 micron minimum used to define gold vermeil in the United States.
Our silver tone pieces feature an 18K white gold finish protected with rhodium plating.
All Drew Studio jewelry is nickel, lead, and cadmium free.
Our earring posts and backs are also made from solid 925 sterling silver with the corresponding finish.
Sensitive Skin
Drew Studio jewelry is designed with sensitive skin in mind. All pieces are nickel, lead, and cadmium free.
Water & Everyday Wear
We do not recommend wearing your jewelry in water. To preserve its color and finish, remove it before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping, and avoid direct contact with perfume and lotions.
A small splash is fine. Simply dry the piece gently with a soft cloth.
What Water Resistant Really Means
Precious metal jewelry and surface finishes benefit from thoughtful care. An occasional splash will not immediately harm a piece, but repeated exposure to water, chlorine, salt, perspiration, and personal care products can gradually affect its appearance. Drew Studio’s 3 micron gold vermeil offers a more substantial finish, while proper care helps preserve it for longer.
Cleaning & Storage
Gently wipe your jewelry with a soft, dry cloth after wearing it. Store each piece separately in its Drew Studio pouch or a dry jewelry box, away from moisture, direct sunlight, perfume, and lotions.
How Long Does Gold Vermeil Last?
The lifespan of gold vermeil depends on how often it is worn and cared for. Drew Studio’s 3 micron layer of 18K gold is 20% thicker than the minimum used to define gold vermeil in the United States, giving each piece a more substantial finish.
Keeping your jewelry dry, clean, and stored separately will help preserve its color and shine.
